UOttawa PhD Candidate Visiting the Centre for East African Legal Studies at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Posted on Wednesday, July 22, 2015

During July and August 2015, Siobhán Airey is undertaking field research in Tanzania for her doctoral thesis on the international legal and governance framework on ODA.  She is linking with the Tanzanian German Centre for East African Legal Studies (TGCL) at the School of Law at the University of Dar es Salaam and will be working with Prof Kennedy Gastorn there.

TGCL undertakes interdisciplinary research on East African integration, and on regionalism and development in Africa, meeting a long-recognised gap in African-generated research in these areas. Siobhan’s visit is supported by a research grant from Harvard Law School’s Institute of Global Law and Policy.

While in East Africa, with support from the Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC), Siobhan participated in the Third (and final) International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD3), and the preceding CSO Forum, held in Addis Ababa from 10 to 16 July 2015.
