Sara Ross, an alumna of the Faculty of Law’s LLM Program who graduated in 2013, was recently awarded the Austin Sarat Award by the Association for the Study of Law, Culture, and the Humanities. The award recognizes an outstanding research paper by a graduate student.
Ms. Ross is currently undertaking PhD studies at Osgoode Hall Law School. Her paper, which was published in the peer-reviewed City University of Hong Kong Law Review in December 2016, is entitled “Buen Vivir and Subaltern Cosmopolitan Legality in Urban Cultural Governance and Redevelopment Frameworks: The Equitable Right to Diverse Iterations of Culture in the City and a New Urban Legal Anthropological Approach”.
Ms. Ross also currently sits on the Boards of Directors for both the Canadian Association of Law Teachers and the Canadian Law and Society Association.
