Alumnus Olabisi Akinkugbe (PhD 2017) Joins Schulich School of Law

Alumnus Olabisi Akinkugbe, who earned his PhD at the Faculty of Law in 2017, has been appointed to a tenure-track position at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law.

Professor Akinkugbe originally joined the Schulich School of Law as a Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2017–18 academic year. Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, he earned his law degree from the University of Lagos in 2003, then completed a year-long professional legal training at the Nigerian law school, where he received a Licentiate Degree in Law in 2004. He completed his PhD at the University of Ottawa in 2017, after earning an LLM from the University of Toronto in 2008.

At Dalhousie University he will undertake a full teaching load, teaching first-year contract law and judicial decision-making, and second-year civil procedure. His current research covers business law, transnational law, law and economic development, African regional economic integration, and regional and transnational dispute resolution.
